You're invited to an art reception!

We’re pleased to have Steven Nuss, a long time Point Richmond resident and artist, kick off our guest curator program. Steven owns and operates an intimate new gallery in Point Richmond called Refined By Fire. The gallery, located at 103 West Richmond Avenue, specializes in showcasing the work of local painters, sculptors, photographers and more.

Steven is bringing the work of two local artists to Bridge ArtSpace. We’ll be showing the sculptural paintings of Paul Graf, and the enigmatic kinetic forms of San Huncilman.

Join us for an opening reception on Friday, July 30th from 7 p.m. on. Singer and guitarist, Gary Beard has promised to round out the evening with a blend of folk, Latin and jazz. Food and drink will be served.

Paul Graf has a degree from CCAC, and is currently a member of the Sculpture Faculty at the Academy of Art University in SF, as well as a yearly guest instructor at the Mendocino Art Center.

His “sculptural drawings” reflect his approach to the interface between 2 & 3 dimensional art, & the raised textures that are the graphic results. In different lighting and viewed from different angles, many aspects of the image come forward or recede as the viewer moves about. Rhythmic forms with subtle shifting are used to create atmospheres, or small worlds in their own right. The “House of Lights” brings the viewer to the inside of a temple of the imagination. In his “Hat-Full” series, Paul placed the faces inside their hats, in his desire to show that in is out , or is that vice-verse?
